Beirut: One person was killed and three others were injured in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Monday, marking a new violation of a ceasefire agreement, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported. A ministry statement noted that the attack specifically targeted a vehicle in the town of Yohmor in Nabatieh province.

According to Anadolu Agency, the incident follows another Israeli drone strike on Sunday in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the deaths of two Lebanese individuals. These recent attacks have increased the death toll in the last 24 hours to six. The ceasefire, described as fragile, has been in effect in Lebanon since November 2024 after intense cross-border warfare between Israel and Hezbollah escalated into a full-scale conflict in September.

Lebanese authorities have documented nearly 1,100 Israeli ceasefire violations, which have resulted in the deaths of at least 92 individuals and injuries to more than 285 others. The ceasefire agreement stipulated that Israel was to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 26. However, the deadline was extended to February 18 after Israel's refusal to comply. Despite the agreement, Israel maintains a military presence at five border outposts.
