Maarakeh: Seven people were injured Friday in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese town of Maarakeh, according to local emergency responders. The Lebanese Risala Scout Association stated that its ambulance, rescue, and firefighting teams quickly responded to an airstrike that targeted the town's eastern neighborhood.
According to Anadolu Agency, the statement from the Lebanese Risala Scout Association detailed that six injured individuals were evacuated to nearby hospitals, while one person received treatment at the scene. Rescue teams also worked diligently to reopen roads impacted by the strike. In a separate incident, the NNA reported that Israeli warplanes executed a two-wave airstrike on the town of Toul, targeting and destroying a residential and commercial building.
Further reports from the agency indicated two additional airstrikes on the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. The ongoing conflict has seen Israel waging an offensive on Lebanon since March 2, resulting in the deaths of 3,711 people and injuries to 11,483 others as of Thursday. Additionally, more than 1 million people have been displaced due to the conflict.
Despite a ceasefire that commenced on April 17, Israel has persisted with its offensive through daily deadly shelling and the widespread demolition of homes in numerous villages.
