Israeli Airstrike Kills 6 Palestinians in Southern Gaza Amid Ceasefire Violations

Khan younis: Six Palestinians were killed and four others injured early Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on the al-Mawasi area in western Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. The attack has raised concerns over the ongoing ceasefire violations in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, the airstrike resulted in the death of six Palestinians, whose bodies were brought to Nasser Hospital, while four others sustained various injuries. Medical sources confirmed these casualties, highlighting the severity of the incident.

Eyewitnesses reported to Anadolu that an Israeli drone targeted a group of civilians in the “Bir 19” area of al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, early on Sunday. This attack represents another instance of the ongoing hostilities despite the ceasefire agreement.

The ceasefire, in place since October 10, has been repeatedly breached by Israeli forces, resulting in 691 deaths and 1,876 injuries as of March 18, according to data from the Palestine Health Ministry. The conflict, which began with Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, has led to over 72,000 Palestinian deaths, approximately 172,000 injuries, and significant destruction of about 90% of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure.
