Israeli Airstrikes Across Lebanon Result in 36 Fatalities and Dozens Injured

Beirut: At least 36 people have been killed and dozens more injured following a series of Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon since dawn on Wednesday. The strikes are part of a broader regional escalation, Lebanese media reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, an Israeli warplane targeted a building in the town of Tamnine el-Tahta in Baalbek, eastern Lebanon, which was home to a Syrian family. This attack resulted in the death of 10 people and left five others injured. Additionally, an Israeli drone strike on Mahmoud Faqih Street in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, claimed the life of one person.

In another incident, three individuals lost their lives when an Israeli drone targeted a car in the Saf al-Hawa area of Bint Jbeil in Nabatieh. The strikes continued in the town of Hanouiyeh in the Tyre district, where three people, including a paramedic, were killed.

The violence extended to Zellaya in the Western Bekaa region, where one person was killed and two others were injured. In Al-Housh in the Tyre district, one person was killed, and eight others were wounded due to Israeli bombardment. Successive airstrikes in Qana within the same district resulted in five fatalities and five injuries.

Further casualties were reported in Chaqra, southern Lebanon, where two individuals were killed in an airstrike. Three young men perished in Sharqiya after a strike on a house, and in Kfartabnit, a paramedic died following an airstrike. Six people were killed and seven wounded in Chehabiyeh, Tyre district, as reported by Al-Manar TV, affiliated with Hezbollah.

Israeli aircraft also struck a residential apartment in Beirut’s Aicha Bakkar area, though casualty numbers from this attack remain unclear. Additionally, Lebanon’s Health Ministry confirmed that four people were injured in a strike on the town of Tebnine in southern Lebanon.

Since March 2, Israeli airstrikes have claimed over 570 lives and displaced thousands in Lebanon amid ongoing cross-border conflicts with Hezbollah. The situation escalated following a joint attack by Israel and the US on Iran, resulting in over 1,200 deaths, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and injuring more than 10,000. In retaliation, Iran launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
