Gaza city: At least 36 Palestinians were killed and others injured following Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, with an additional four people succumbing to starvation in the blockaded area, as confirmed by medical personnel.
According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli warplanes targeted a residential home in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of eight family members and causing injuries to several others. Two more Palestinian bodies were taken to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital after an Israeli strike hit the Al-Tuffah neighborhood. Additionally, a residential apartment in Gaza City was hit by an Israeli aircraft, leading to several injuries.
In the southern region of Gaza, the Israeli army reportedly opened fire on civilians waiting for aid near a distribution point in Khan Younis, killing 16 individuals and injuring several more. Further casualties occurred due to artillery shelling in central Gaza at the al-Bureij camp and the al-Zeitoun neighborhood, with one Palestinian killed in each location.
Eight additional fatalities and numerous injuries were reported when Israeli forces fired on Palestinians near the Zikim distribution point in the northwestern Gaza Strip. Despite the shelling of areas in northern Khan Younis, where displaced Palestinians have taken shelter in tents, no casualties have been reported.
Meanwhile, Gaza's Health Ministry announced that four more individuals died from starvation and malnutrition within the last 24 hours, raising the total number of famine-related deaths to 239, including 106 children. The ongoing conflict has resulted in nearly 61,800 deaths in Gaza since October 2023.
Israel faces increasing international condemnation for its actions in Gaza. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity. Additionally, Israel is involved in a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its operations in the enclave.
