Gaza city: Fresh Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least 36 Palestinians, medical sources confirmed. The strikes have intensified the humanitarian crisis in the region, with hospitals struggling to cope amidst severe shortages of medical supplies and hospital beds.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat reported that six individuals, including four children, lost their lives when a home in the Bureij refugee camp was bombed by Israeli forces. In another tragic incident, an Israeli drone targeted a tent housing displaced families in the al-Mawasi area, north of Khan Younis, killing a man and his wife.

The continuous bombardment has seen several other incidents across Gaza. Five Palestinians were shot dead near the Zikim crossing while waiting for aid, and two more were killed near an aid distribution center in Rafah. The violence extended to the seas as well, where a fisherman was killed off the coast of Gaza City by Israeli naval forces.

Airstrikes have also claimed lives in Gaza City, with two people, including a woman, killed in the Sheikh Ijlin neighborhood. Similarly, two more individuals were killed in the Asqula area of the Zeitoun neighborhood. In Khan Younis, an airstrike targeting tents sheltering displaced people resulted in two fatalities and 15 injuries.

The humanitarian toll continues to rise with civil defense crews recovering the remains of five Palestinians from a strike in the Bir al-Najjah area, west of the Jabalia refugee camp. Ismail al-Thawabta, director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, highlighted the ongoing assault on the Zeitoun neighborhood, which has displaced hundreds of families over six days.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, the Israeli military campaign has demolished approximately 400 homes in the Zeitoun neighborhood. Since October 2023, the conflict has claimed nearly 61,900 Palestinian lives in Gaza, pushing the enclave to the brink of famine.

The international community has taken notice, with the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants for Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for alleged war crimes. Additionally, Israel faces genocide charges at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in Gaza.
