Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon Result in Fatalities During Eid al-Adha

Tyre: Two people were killed and another was wounded early Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon's southern Tyre district on the first day of the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha. The Israeli army launched air and artillery attacks on eastern and southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon's state-run National News Agency.

According to Anadolu Agency, the outlet reported that Israeli warplanes targeted various towns in eastern and southern Lebanon, including the Baalbek and the al-Zahrani regions. These airstrikes are part of a series of intense attacks conducted by the Israeli army on Lebanon since March 2. As per the latest Lebanese official figures, these strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 3,213 people.

The ongoing airstrikes are in violation of a US-mediated ceasefire agreement that took effect on April 17 and was later extended through early July. Despite the ceasefire, hostilities have continued, leading to significant casualties and raising concerns over the stability in the region.
