Israeli Airstrikes Intensify in Tehran Amid Rising Global Tensions

Jerusalem: The Israeli army announced early Wednesday the initiation of a fresh wave of airstrikes targeting Tehran, the capital of Iran. The strikes mark a significant escalation in ongoing hostilities that have seen both countries exchange military actions since last Friday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the recent Israeli airstrikes follow a series of coordinated attacks that targeted multiple sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities. These actions have provoked retaliatory strikes from Tehran, heightening the potential for a broader conflict. The situation has drawn international attention, with various global leaders expressing concern over the potential repercussions of the ongoing military actions.

French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking at a G7 summit in Canada, cautioned that forcing regime change in Iran could be a strategic mistake. He called for an immediate cessation of strikes affecting civilians in both Iran and Israel, emphasizing the historical failures of external military interventions to stabilize regions.

Additionally, Russia has issued a stern warning, stating that Israel's continued assaults on Iranian nuclear facilities are edging the world closer to a nuclear catastrophe. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes as illegal under international law and urged Israel to halt its attacks on nuclear sites, which are under International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verification.

As tensions rise, the international community remains on edge, with various geopolitical actors closely monitoring the situation and its potential implications for global security and stability.
