Gaza city: The Israeli army conducted airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Friday, resulting in the deaths of at least 42 Palestinians, as reported by Anadolu. The strikes targeted civilian gatherings in the northern and central regions of the enclave.

According to Anadolu Agency, medical sources and eyewitnesses confirmed the attacks, which included a drone strike southwest of Khan Younis that killed three Palestinians and another strike north of Rafah that resulted in two fatalities. In eastern Gaza City, a drone targeted civilians in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, killing one person. Additional casualties occurred in the Zeitoun neighborhood and near the Al-Ittisalat junction in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, where three were killed and 13 injured.

The central Gaza Strip also saw violence, with three people shot dead by Israeli forces near the Netzarim corridor while waiting for aid. An airstrike near the Kissufim crossing claimed three lives, and a strike on the Al-Matahin junction in Deir al-Balah resulted in another fatality. Seven Palestinians, including two children, died in a strike on a school sheltering displaced individuals in the al-Daraj neighborhood.

Two more Palestinians, including a child, lost their lives in separate airstrikes in the al-Tuffah and Zeitoun neighborhoods. In Deir al-Balah, an Israeli strike on a tent atop the outpatient clinic building at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital killed two people and injured others.

The Gaza Media Office condemned the attacks on medical facilities, calling them a violation of international and humanitarian laws. Six Palestinians were shot dead while waiting for aid in the Zikim area, and seven more died in a strike on a school tent in central Gaza City.

The ongoing military campaign has led to the deaths of nearly 61,900 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023, severely impacting the region and bringing it to the brink of famine. The International Criminal Court previously issued arrest warrants for Israeli leaders over war crimes, and Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
