Ramallah: The Israeli army arrested seven Palestinians and assaulted two others during a series of raids across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday. The army also installed a gate on the only road leading to three Palestinian homes in Qusra, effectively isolating them, according to Palestinian sources.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian Prisoner Society reported that Israeli forces arrested three Palestinians in Jenin province. Among those detained were a woman and a man with a disability caused by a previous Israeli gunshot wound. Meanwhile, in Qalqilya province, a Palestinian was arrested in the town of Azzun after Israeli forces raided his home.

In the Dheisheh refugee camp south of Bethlehem, a young Palestinian man was arrested, and Israeli occupiers reportedly stole several sheep from a Palestinian in Al-Ubeidiya. In Hebron province, two Palestinians were arrested in Adh-Dhahiriya and Al-Fawwar refugee camp, with local sources indicating they were assaulted during the arrests.

The Israeli army further intensified its operations by raiding the town of Beit Ummar in Hebron, where they searched homes and assaulted residents. Additionally, an iron gate was closed between Al-Arroub refugee camp and Beit Ummar, restricting movement between the two areas.

In Qusra, the Israeli army's installation of a gate has left three homes besieged, worsening the residents' plight. Qusra Mayor Abdul Azim al-Wadi reported to Wafa, a Palestinian news agency, that the siege has continued for 18 days, leading to shortages of food and medicine.

In Ramallah and al-Bireh province, Israeli forces fired tear gas and stun grenades at Palestinians near the Khirbetta-Bani Harith gate, setting fire to a vehicle. Tensions escalated in al-Mughayyir with clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces, who attempted to gain control of the village's water supply.

The situation in Jerusalem also deteriorated as Israeli forces closed the main Bir Nabala road and conducted raids in the Silwan neighborhood and other locations northwest of Jerusalem. The raids resulted in two injuries from live fire and tear gas in Beit Anan.

The ongoing escalation in the West Bank follows Israel's war on Gaza, which began in October 2023, marking a rise in army raids and attacks by Israeli occupiers on Palestinians.
