Jerusalem: The Israeli army arrested 33 Palestinians, including two journalists, two minors, and former prisoners, during raids Thursday in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office. The arrests were part of a concentrated operation across several provinces, including Nablus, Bethlehem, Hebron, Jenin, Tubas, and Tulkarem.

According to Anadolu Agency, the non-governmental group reported that Israeli forces raided and searched dozens of homes, causing damage to some properties. The group specified that 17 arrests were made in Nablus, seven in Bethlehem, three in Hebron, one in Jenin, two in Tubas, and three in Tulkarem. Among those detained were journalists Sabri Mousa Jibril and Muath Ammarna, both from Bethlehem.

The group detailed that in Jenin, an Israeli special forces unit infiltrated the vicinity of the Interior Ministry roundabout, leading to the arrest of a former prisoner. The arrests also included minors and other former prisoners, one of whom had been released just days prior. The group criticized the escalation in arrests, home raids, and property damage, viewing it as part of an 'ongoing policy of intimidation and arrests against Palestinians.'

The Palestinian Prisoners Society highlighted that the Israeli army has detained over 100 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank over the past week. Their report noted that these arrests were often accompanied by violations, such as 'field executions,' field interrogations, physical assaults, and threats against detainees and their families.

The report further noted attacks against Palestinians and their property during these operations, supported by Israeli forces. The arrest campaigns have continued amid an ongoing Israeli escalation in the region. Since the outbreak of its genocidal war in the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has intensified raids and arrests in the West Bank, with an increase in attacks by occupiers and demolitions of Palestinian homes and structures.

Currently, more than 9,400 Palestinians are detained in Israeli prisons, including 370 children and 92 women. Rights groups have raised concerns about reports of torture and medical neglect faced by some prisoners, as reported by the Palestinian Prisoners Society.
