Israeli Army Intercepts Drones Fired from Yemen

Tel aviv: Israeli army claims to have intercepted two drones launched from Yemen, with air raid sirens sounding in southern Israel late Wednesday. The Israeli army reported that the drones were intercepted within an hour of each other, with one being intercepted near the border with Egypt.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli military released a statement confirming the interception of the drones, as reported by Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth daily. The military's air defenses were activated in response to the threat, ensuring the drones did not reach their intended targets.

The Israeli army had previously intercepted another drone earlier in the same area, marking a series of attempts to breach Israeli airspace. There has been no immediate confirmation from Yemen's Houthi group regarding this recent interception claim by Israel.

These incidents follow a similar event on Tuesday when the Israeli military intercepted four drones launched from Yemen toward the southern city of Eilat. The ongoing exchanges between the Houthis and Israel come amid heightened tensions due to Israel's conflict in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in significant casualties.
