Eilat: The Israeli army announced early Monday that it successfully intercepted two drones launched from Yemen. Military spokeswoman Ella Waweya confirmed that the Israeli Air Force took action during the past hour to neutralize the threat.

According to Anadolu Agency, the interception followed earlier reports from Israeli media about sirens sounding in the southern city of Eilat, which raised alarms over a potential drone infiltration. The situation has heightened tensions in the region, although no additional details have been disclosed.

The interception announcement came shortly after Yemen's Houthi group claimed responsibility for two military operations targeting sensitive military sites in southern Israel using cruise missiles and drones. This development is part of ongoing regional escalations that have persisted since February 28, when Israel and the United States initiated a joint offensive against Iran. The offensive has resulted in more than 1,340 casualties, including the death of Iran's then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response to the offensive, Iran has conducted drone and missile strikes targeting several countries, including Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations with US military bases. These retaliatory actions have led to further casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
