Beirut: The Israeli army issued a warning on Saturday regarding impending strikes on several buildings in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army's Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee, shared a map on the US social media company X, highlighting three buildings marked in red in the Zuqaq al-Mafdi area of Tyre. Adraee indicated that these buildings would soon be targeted and advised residents and others nearby to maintain a distance of at least 300 meters from the identified locations. He asserted that these buildings were being utilized by the Lebanese group Hezbollah.

This warning follows an expanding military campaign by Israel in Lebanon that commenced on Monday. The campaign was sparked by limited rocket fire from Hezbollah amidst broader regional tensions related to the conflict involving Israel, the US, and Iran. Israel's offensive in Lebanon, which started in October 2023, escalated into a full-scale war by September 2024, resulting in over 4,000 deaths and approximately 17,000 injuries.

Despite a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah established in November 2024, Israel has continued with near-daily violations, leading to hundreds of casualties.
