Gaza City: The Israeli army on Wednesday killed 51 more Palestinians in several areas across the blockaded Gaza Strip, including 34 aid-seekers, as Israel's war continued in the besieged Palestinian enclave, medical sources told Anadolu.

According to Anadolu Agency, a medical source reported that 25 people lost their lives when Israeli forces opened heavy fire toward people waiting to get humanitarian aid near the Netzarim Corridor area, south of Gaza City. In Rafah, southern Gaza, nine more people were shot dead by Israeli forces as they waited for food under an Israeli-crafted aid distribution mechanism.

Palestinian figures indicate that more than 160 Palestinian aid-seekers have been killed and nearly 1,500 injured by Israeli army fire in Gaza since May 27. The Israeli aid distribution mechanism has faced widespread rejection and criticism from the international community, including the UN.

Gaza's Civil Defense teams recovered 11 bodies following overnight Israeli airstrikes in various parts of the enclave, officials reported. In Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, two Palestinians were killed and several others injured in an Israeli strike targeting civilians, according to a medical source.

The Israeli army also killed four more Palestinians in a drone strike on a tent for displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has continued its offensive against Gaza since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of over 55,100 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

With all Gaza's border crossings closed to humanitarian aid by Israel since early March, aid agencies have warned about the risk of famine among Gaza's 2.4 million inhabitants. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
