Gaza city: The Israeli army announced on Wednesday that it had killed two Palestinians in the central Gaza Strip for allegedly crossing the 'yellow line', a boundary set despite an existing ceasefire agreement.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army stated that the two men posed a 'threat' after allegedly crossing the 'yellow line' in two separate incidents and approaching soldiers stationed in central Gaza. The 'yellow line' is designated as the initial withdrawal line under the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which was implemented on October 10. This line demarcates areas still under Israeli military control in the east from those where Palestinians are allowed to move freely in the west.

Despite the ceasefire, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that over 240 Palestinians have been killed and more than 600 others injured by Israeli army fire since the truce began. The first phase of the ceasefire deal involves the release of Israeli hostages in return for Palestinian prisoners, alongside plans to rebuild Gaza and establish a new governing body that does not include Hamas.

Since October 2023, the ongoing conflict has resulted in nearly 69,000 deaths and over 170,600 injuries, as reported by the Gaza Health Ministry.
