Israeli Army Orders Evacuation of Beirut Suburbs Ahead of Airstrikes

Beirut: The Israeli army has instructed residents in four neighborhoods of Beirut's southern suburbs to evacuate their homes immediately in anticipation of imminent airstrikes. The directive was announced on Thursday, targeting specific areas within the Lebanese capital.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued a warning on the social media platform X, urging residents of Burj al-Barajneh and Hadath to evacuate and move east toward Mount Lebanon using the Beirut-Damascus Road. Additionally, residents of Haret Hreik and Shiyah were advised to head north toward Tripoli via the Beirut-Tripoli highway or east via the Metn expressway towards Mount Lebanon.

The Israeli army emphasized that moving south could endanger the lives of the residents, advising them against that direction. The statement assured residents that they would be informed when it is safe to return to their homes.
