Israeli Army Reports Deaths of Officer and Soldier in Southern Lebanon

Tel aviv: The Israeli army announced that an officer and a soldier were killed during a military operation in southern Lebanon.

According to Anadolu Agency, Capt. Shahar Gamla, 23, who served as the deputy commander of a company in the Egoz Unit of the Commando Brigade, succumbed to injuries sustained from a drone attack several days prior. In a separate incident, Sgt. Ohad Yaari, 21, a member of the Shaked Battalion of the Givati Brigade, was killed due to an accidental shooting. The military is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.

These recent deaths have brought the total number of Israeli soldiers killed since the conflict with Iran and Lebanon began on February 28 to 30. Despite a ceasefire that was implemented on April 17 and subsequently extended by Washington until early July, the Israeli military offensive in Lebanon persists. Israel continues to conduct attacks in Lebanon as diplomatic efforts are underway to uphold the ceasefire and prevent further escalation.
