Daraa: The Israeli army shelled an area in Syria's southern Daraa province, targeting the northwest of the village of Koya on Wednesday evening with three different types of munitions. The shelling was accompanied by bursts of gunfire, as reported by local media.

According to Anadolu Agency, the state-run broadcaster Al-Ekhbaria TV did not provide any details regarding casualties or damage resulting from the shelling. This incident follows a previous attack in the same village last March, where Israeli shelling resulted in the deaths of five people.

Following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December, Israel expanded its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by seizing the demilitarized buffer zone, violating a 1974 disengagement agreement with Syria. The fall of the regime allowed Israel to carry out hundreds of strikes on military sites and assets across Syria, targeting fighter jets, missile systems, and air defense installations.

The end of Assad's nearly 25-year leadership came when he fled to Russia last December, marking the end of the Baath Party regime that had been in power since 1963. A new transitional administration, led by Sharaa, was established in January.
