Gaza City: At least 100 Palestinians, including many seeking food aid, were killed and hundreds more were wounded in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to medical sources.
According to Anadolu Agency, 17 people, including two children, lost their lives, and several others were injured in two separate strikes in the Shejaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City. In another tragic incident, eight individuals were killed by Israeli gunfire while attempting to obtain humanitarian aid in the Netzarim area in central Gaza, as reported by the official Wafa news agency, citing medical sources.
Three Palestinians waiting for aid were also killed by Israeli army gunfire west of Rafah city in southern Gaza. In central Gaza City, two people were killed and several others injured due to Israeli army fire. In western Gaza City, nine Palestinians, including four children, were killed in airstrikes targeting civilians and a home, according to medics.
In northwestern Gaza City, Israeli shelling on a Palestinian house resulted in the deaths of five people, including a mother and her two children, according to medical sources. Rescue teams managed to recover the bodies of three Palestinians and save five others from the rubble of two houses in Jabalia Al-Nazla in northern Gaza. Some individuals remain missing beneath the debris.
In central Gaza, an Israeli attack on two houses in Deir al-Balah and the Nuseirat refugee camp led to the deaths of ten Palestinians and injuries to others. A medical source reported the recovery of a young Palestinian's body from the rubble in the town of Abasan in eastern Khan Younis. Five Palestinians, including two waiting for aid delivery, were killed by Israeli strikes and gunfire in Khan Younis.
Further north, two Palestinians were killed, and others were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a gathering near the Omari Mosque in Jabalia Al-Balad. In southwestern Gaza City, six people died when an Israeli strike hit a residential home. In Gaza City's Shejaiya neighborhood, an Israeli bombardment of a home killed eight people, including two children, with others remaining unaccounted for.
Another strike in the Al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City resulted in the deaths of nine Palestinians, including five children, after a missile hit a house. South of Gaza City, 12 people were killed and others injured, some critically, when a residential building in Shejaiya was bombed, medical sources added.
The ongoing offensive by the Israeli army, which has ignored international calls for a ceasefire, has resulted in the deaths of over 56,000 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, since October 2023. In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
