Quneitra: Israeli forces shelled the southern countryside of Syria's Quneitra province on Thursday, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). The artillery attack involved three shells landing near Tal al-Ahmar al-Sharqi, with no casualties reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, neither the Syrian government nor the Israeli military had released an official statement regarding the motive or intended target of the shelling as of 11.00 am (0800GMT). This incident is part of a series of recurring Israeli incursions and attacks in southern Syria, which have included raids, searches, arrests, and the establishment of military checkpoints.

The frequency of these activities increased significantly after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in December 2024. Following this political shift, Israel declared the 1974 Disengagement Agreement void and took control of the Syrian buffer zone.

Syrian authorities have consistently demanded a complete Israeli withdrawal from the region. They have urged the international community to enforce international law and have declared all unilateral military actions by Israel as null and void.
