Attiri: A man was killed and 11 others were injured when an Israeli drone fired two missiles at a car in the southern Lebanese town of Attiri, Lebanon's Health Ministry reported. Among the injured were several schoolchildren traveling in a bus that was passing by at the time of the attack, the state-run National News Agency stated.

According to Anadolu Agency, the strike occurred as the school bus was moving directly behind the targeted vehicle, resulting in injuries to multiple students and the bus driver. The targeted car caught fire, prompting civil defense teams to extinguish the flames, while the injured were taken to Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil.

The incident followed an Israeli airstrike on the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Sidon, southern Lebanon, which killed at least 13 people. The Israeli army claimed the airstrike targeted Hamas members plotting attacks against Israel, but the Palestinian group denied these allegations.

Prior to the Attiri incident, two Israeli drones had struck separate vehicles in Bint Jbeil and Blida, killing two individuals. The Israeli army claimed these attacks eliminated two Hezbollah members allegedly involved in intelligence-gathering activities on behalf of Hezbollah.

Tensions have been escalating in southern Lebanon, with the Israeli army conducting frequent air raids purportedly targeting Hezbollah members and infrastructure. The ongoing conflict has resulted in over 4,000 deaths and nearly 17,000 injuries in Lebanon since October 2023, escalating into a full-scale offensive by September 2024.

Despite a ceasefire declared in November 2024, which mandated an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon by January, the Israeli army has only partially withdrawn and continues to maintain a military presence at five border outposts.
