Tyre: At least two individuals lost their lives in an Israeli drone strike targeting a motorcycle in southern Lebanon's Tyre district. The attack took place on the main road in the Mahrouna municipality.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed that the death toll rose to two after a woman succumbed to her injuries sustained in the strike. Initially, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that a man and his wife were injured when their vehicle collided with a concrete barrier during the incident.

The Israeli military later announced the death of 'Abbas Al-Hassan Wahbi' in Mahrouna, identifying him as an intelligence officer within Hezbollah's 'Radwan Force' Battalion. This strike is part of a larger conflict that escalated into a full-scale war by September 2024, following Israel's wide-scale assault on Lebanon in October 2023. The ongoing conflict has resulted in over 4,000 deaths, more than 17,000 injuries, and the displacement of nearly 1.4 million people.

Despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November between Israel and Lebanon, Israeli forces have continued near-daily operations in southern Lebanon, citing Hezbollah activities as their target. Lebanese authorities have documented nearly 3,000 breaches of the ceasefire, resulting in at least 224 deaths and over 500 injuries.

Under the ceasefire terms, Israel was expected to withdraw entirely from southern Lebanon by January 26. However, the deadline was extended to February 18 due to Israel's non-compliance, and it continues to maintain a military presence at five border outposts.
