Beirut: Two individuals were killed and several others sustained injuries on Tuesday evening due to two Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, despite an existing ceasefire agreement, as reported by the Health Ministry. An Israeli drone targeted a vehicle on the road connecting the towns of Markaba and Adaisseh in the Marjayoun district, located in southern Lebanon, according to the state news agency NNA.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Health Ministry confirmed that one person was killed in this assault. In a separate incident, another Israeli drone attacked a pickup truck in the Sebline area along the Mount Lebanon coast in central Lebanon, as reported by NNA. The Health Ministry reported that one person was killed and five others were injured in this attack.

A ceasefire agreement was established between Tel Aviv and Beirut last year following more than a year of hostilities related to the conflict in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in over 4,000 fatalities and 17,000 injuries. The Israeli army was scheduled to withdraw from southern Lebanon in January as per the ceasefire terms, but instead, it only partially withdrew and continues to maintain a military presence at five border outposts.
