Ramallah: Israeli forces arrested at least 30 Palestinians, including a journalist, and injured two others during raids across the occupied West Bank early Thursday, as Israeli occupiers attacked Palestinian homes and set fire to agricultural land near Ramallah.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office reported that Israeli forces apprehended at least 23 young men from Hajja village east of Qalqilya after conducting raids on numerous homes and subjecting residents to field interrogations. The situation escalated in Ramallah, where Israeli forces raided the home of journalist Alaa Al-Rimawi, arresting him and taking him to an undisclosed location, as confirmed by his family.
Rimawi's arrest follows his release on October 7, 2025, after spending two years in administrative detention. Known for his work as a correspondent for Al Jazeera Mubasher and managing the G Media network, Rimawi has previously faced arrest in April 2021, which resulted in a month-and-a-half detention following a hunger strike.
In Jenin province, forces arrested two brothers in Ya'bad after raiding their home, while in Nablus province, a Palestinian was detained and assaulted in Kafr Qalil village. Further raids in Qaryut village led to the arrest of two brothers and the confiscation of money from their home. In Al-Ain refugee camp in Nablus, Israeli forces transformed residents' homes into centers for field interrogations.
In the Abu Dis area of Jerusalem province, several young men were detained, and the Abu Dis Club was damaged during Israeli forces' control and interrogation operations. Among those arrested were a girl and her father from the Al-Masimi family, with other identities remaining unknown.
The raids also resulted in injuries, as a man in Qalqilya province was shot with live ammunition, and another individual with a disability experienced breathing issues due to tear gas, as reported by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. Additionally, local sources indicated that Israeli occupiers set fire to agricultural land in Burqa village east of Ramallah, threatening residential areas with spreading flames.
Burqa and surrounding villages have been subject to repeated assaults by Israeli occupiers and military forces, affecting homes, property, and crops. The occupied West Bank continues to endure escalating Israeli occupier actions targeting Palestinians and their lands, with intensified operations since October 8, 2023, coinciding with a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, encompassing East Jerusalem and marked by killings, arrests, displacements, home demolitions, and settlement expansions.
