Beirut: Israeli army forces burnt a house in southern Lebanon on Thursday, marking the latest in a series of violations against the established ceasefire agreement.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that the incident took place in the eastern neighborhood of Qantara town, located in the Marjayoun district. This act follows a pattern of recent infractions, with at least 11 reported violations of the ceasefire agreement occurring on Wednesday alone. Since the agreement came into force on November 27, 2024, there have been a total of 633 violations.

The ceasefire was put in place to bring an end to mutual shelling between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, which began on October 8, 2023, and escalated into a full-scale conflict by September 23, 2024. As per the terms of the agreement, the Israeli army is required to complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon within a 60-day period, which is set to conclude shortly.
