Israeli Forces Demolish East Jerusalem Building and Raid West Bank Homes

Jerusalem:Israeli forces demolished a five-story residential building in occupied East Jerusalem on Tuesday, while also conducting military raids across the West Bank, according to local authorities and media reports.

According to Anadolu Agency, the demolition took place in the Al-Tur neighborhood, where the building housed 10 apartments. Residents received a final demolition notice only a day prior. The Jerusalem Governorate stated that residents had faced years of demolition orders and fines as Israeli authorities refused to issue building permits.

The Jerusalem Governorate further reported that Israeli authorities executed 139 demolition and land-leveling operations in East Jerusalem from July to September, alongside issuing 150 notices for demolition, eviction, and property seizure. The UN humanitarian office documented approximately 170 Palestinian structures demolished in the city since early 2026, primarily due to the lack of Israeli-issued building permits, which are nearly impossible for Palestinians to obtain.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, Israeli forces raided the town of Bani Naim near Hebron, searching homes and declaring the area a "closed military zone." Troops converted three homes into military posts, preventing students from reaching some schools, as reported by the official news agency Wafa. In Tell village near Nablus, forces returned to a previously used military post, forcing a Palestinian family to vacate shortly after their return.

Additionally, Israeli occupiers torched four vehicles in Aqraba and sprayed racist slogans calling for revenge. Another group attempted to set fire to a poultry facility at a farm in Farkha and sprayed slogans on a livestock farm before being confronted by residents.

The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that Israeli occupiers have conducted over 14,742 attacks across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of 66 Palestinians.
