Jenin: Two Palestinians were injured on Wednesday after being assaulted by Israeli forces during a raid in the northern West Bank, medics reported. The incident took place in the village of Misilyah, where a 14-year-old child and a 50-year-old man were severely beaten by Israeli soldiers, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. Both individuals were subsequently transferred to a hospital for treatment.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli army forces conducted the raid in Misilyah on Wednesday morning and imposed a curfew in the area. This operation is part of a broader offensive that the Israeli army has expanded into the neighboring town of Qabatiya in Jenin.

The West Bank has recently experienced significant escalation by Israeli forces, characterized by closures of Palestinian villages and cities, searches, confiscation of valuables, and demolitions of homes. The ongoing tensions have resulted in over 1,085 Palestinians killed and 10,700 others injured in the occupied territory since October 2023. More than 20,500 individuals have been arrested.

The International Court of Justice, in a significant opinion last July, declared Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory illegal, urging for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
