Quneitra: Israeli forces shelled the outskirts of the village of Tarnaja in the Quneitra governorate in southwestern Syria, as reported by Syrian state media. Syria's state-run Alikhbariah TV indicated that the Israeli army targeted the village with artillery fire. The channel did not immediately report any casualties or damage resulting from the shelling.

According to Anadolu Agency, the attack occurred a day after Israeli forces entered the village of Bariqa in the Quneitra countryside, where they raided and searched a house. Quneitra has experienced repeated Israeli incursions and shelling in recent days. On Sunday, Israeli forces fired an artillery shell toward the vicinity of Samadaniyah village, while a day earlier, they fired six shells on the outskirts of the town of Rafid. An Israeli force consisting of five military vehicles also entered the vicinity of the town before withdrawing without making any arrests.

Areas of southern Syria, particularly Quneitra and Daraa governorates, have witnessed near-daily Israeli incursions and attacks involving raids, searches, arrests, and the establishment of military checkpoints. Israel has occupied most of Syria's Golan Heights since 1967. Following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, 2024, Israel declared the 1974 Disengagement Agreement collapsed and occupied the Syrian buffer zone and other positions, including the Syrian side of Mount Hermon.

On July 26, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa stated that his country was working with the involvement of other countries toward reaching a security agreement with Israel. He mentioned that a successful agreement would 'pave the way for comprehensive peace without relinquishing Syria's right to the occupied Golan.'
