Israeli Forces Withdraw from Hebron as Palestinian Security Takes Control

Hebron:Hebron Governor Khaled Dudin announced the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the entire city of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank. This development allows Palestinian security forces to take full control of the area.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the withdrawal follows an Israeli military operation initiated on October 23, after a shooting attack by two Palestinians that resulted in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers and injuries to three others. The Israeli forces subsequently killed the two attackers.

Governor Dudin stated that families who had been forced to leave their homes during the operation could now return. He emphasized that Palestinian authorities and security forces are actively working to ensure the safe return of residents and are monitoring the situation on the ground.

The Israeli operation, which lasted ten days, involved imposing closures on Hebron and surrounding villages. Israeli forces seized Palestinian homes in the Al-Jalda and Ein Deir Baha areas, converting them into military posts. The operation also included forced displacement, demolitions of homes and other structures, and damage to infrastructure.

The Hebron Governorate reported that more than 3,300 Palestinians were displaced or otherwise affected by the operation, with significant destruction in Al-Jalda and Ein Deir Baha. A total of 15 homes and other structures were demolished. Additionally, the operation caused damage to the local economy and infrastructure, disrupting education in the region.
