Israeli Gunfire Claims Life of Palestinian Child in Khan Younis

Khan younis: Israeli gunfire killed a Palestinian child Tuesday after he was shot inside a tent in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, according to medical sources. The tragic incident adds to the ongoing violence in the region, highlighting the precarious situation faced by civilians, especially children, in conflict zones.

According to Anadolu Agency, the body of 13-year-old Khaled Saif al-Din Suleiman Arada was brought to Nasser Hospital after he was struck by an Israeli bullet. Medical sources confirmed that the child was hit by a stray bullet that penetrated the tent where he was taking shelter, resulting in his immediate death.

The incident is part of a pattern of ceasefire violations by Israeli forces since the ceasefire was established on October 10. As of March 18, these violations have resulted in 677 deaths and 1,813 injuries, as reported by the Health Ministry data.

The broader conflict has seen significant casualties and destruction. Israel's military actions in Gaza, initiated in October 2023, have led to the deaths of over 72,000 Palestinians and injuries to approximately 172,000 others. The assault has devastated about 90% of the civilian infrastructure in Gaza, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
