Nablus: Israeli occupiers on Sunday disrupted electricity supply to a Palestinian town in the occupied West Bank by attacking its power infrastructure. In tandem with this, the Israeli army arrested five Palestinians during raids across several areas.

According to Anadolu Agency, the official Palestinian news outlet Wafa reported that a group of occupiers attacked the town of Madama, located in the northern West Bank near the city of Nablus. The attackers damaged electricity poles, resulting in power outages in the northern part of the town.

In related developments, Israeli forces conducted raids in eastern Nablus, arresting two Palestinians after searching their homes. The nearby town of Tel, southwest of Nablus, also witnessed Israeli raids, where several homes were searched, although no arrests were reported, as per the agency.

Further south, in the Dheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem, Israeli forces arrested three young Palestinians after raiding and searching their family homes. Additionally, Israeli forces raided the Kanaan family home in central Bethlehem and posted threatening notices on the walls of the Salah al-Din Mosque.

The occupied West Bank has recently seen an increase in Israeli military activity, encompassing raids on Palestinian cities, towns, and refugee camps, which have involved killings, arrests, home demolitions, and forced evacuations. Since the onset of Israel's military actions in Gaza in October 2023, such assaults have intensified, resulting in the deaths of over 1,182 Palestinians, injuries to approximately 13,000, and the arrest of nearly 24,000 others, based on official Palestinian figures.
