Jerusalem: Israeli occupiers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday under the protection of Israeli police.
According to Anadolu Agency, citing the Jerusalem Governorate, dozens of occupiers entered the compound, toured its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals under the protection of Israeli police.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is recognized as the world's third-holiest site for Muslims. Jews refer to the area as the Temple Mount, claiming it was the site of two ancient Jewish temples. This site has been a focal point of tension between Jewish and Muslim communities.
Palestinians assert that Israel is intensifying its efforts to Judaize occupied East Jerusalem, including Al-Aqsa Mosque, aiming to erase its Arab and Islamic identity. They maintain that East Jerusalem should serve as the capital of their future state, consistent with international resolutions that do not acknowledge Israel's occupation of the city in 1967 or its subsequent annexation in 1980.
