Israeli Occupiers Erect Tents for New Outpost in West Bank

Ankara: Israeli occupiers erected tents Sunday for a new illegal settlement outpost northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, Palestine’s official news agency Wafa reported. The move marks an ongoing effort by Israeli occupiers to seize Palestinian land in the Wadi Zeytun area, intending to establish a new outpost.

According to Anadolu Agency, if this attempt to create a new settlement outpost succeeds, it will increase the number of illegal settlement sites in the area to six. This development occurs in the context of heightened tensions and increased attacks by Israeli occupiers against Palestinians and their properties.

The report highlights that these occupier attacks in the occupied West Bank have intensified following the launch of Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. Currently, about 750,000 Israeli occupiers reside in 156 illegal settlements and 360 illegal settlement outposts across the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem.

The United Nations considers the Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories illegal under international law, a position that continues to fuel the ongoing conflict and international debate surrounding these settlements.
