Tubas:West Bank Israeli occupiers have given 47 Palestinian families in the northern occupied West Bank until Sunday evening to vacate their homes following a 27-day blockade.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ultimatum was delivered on Saturday, intensifying concerns about the future of the residents in the Ras al-Ahmar community located southeast of Tubas. The community has been isolated due to road closures implemented over the past weeks.
Hassan Mleihat, head of the Palestinian rights group Al-Baydar, emphasized the uncertainty and fear among the residents regarding their ability to remain on their land and sustain their livelihoods. He urged rights groups, humanitarian organizations, and international bodies to intervene immediately to protect the residents and their property and to end the blockade.
The blockade began in September when the Israeli army closed the last available route connecting Ras al-Ahmar to surrounding areas. Prior to this, other dirt roads leading to the community had already been blocked.
Thaer Bisharat, a resident of the community, reported that restrictions have intensified over the past three years. The situation reached a critical point when Israeli forces dug a trench across the community's last remaining access route, effectively surrounding the community with trenches, walls, and military zones.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reports that since October 2023, Israeli occupiers have conducted over 14,742 attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of 66 Palestinians.
