Israeli Occupiers Maintain Tight Siege on Palestinian Homes for 10th Day in Qusra

Qusra: Israeli occupiers continued Tuesday to maintain a tight siege for the 10th day on three Palestinian homes in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, under Israeli army protection, a local official said.

According to Anadolu Agency, since Aug. 9, occupiers have laid a siege around three Palestinian families, comprising around 13 people, in the Ras al-Ain area of the town, obstructing the delivery of food, water, and basic supplies. Qusra Mayor Abdul Azim al-Wadi stated that Israeli forces and occupiers continued to surround the three homes, preventing families from entering or leaving, as the area has been declared a 'closed military zone.'

Wadi mentioned that the owner of one of the homes, Louay Abu Rida, a US citizen, managed Monday to reach his home, accompanied by an American delegation. Abu Rida expressed the difficulty of witnessing the siege remotely through surveillance cameras and described the reality upon his arrival in the town, noting the presence of occupiers despite the Israeli army's supposed protective role.

The Ras al-Ain area has experienced repeated attacks by occupiers in recent months to establish an illegal settlement outpost and seize Palestinian land and homes. Palestinians have raised concerns that the siege could serve as a tool to displace residents and take over their property.

In a separate incident, a Palestinian was injured by Israeli army fire in Al-Ram town, north of occupied East Jerusalem, as reported by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. Witnesses stated that Israeli soldiers opened fire at a Palestinian near the separation wall in Al-Ram, though the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear. This shooting occurred amid increasing attacks by the Israeli army and occupiers across the West Bank since the Gaza war in October 2023, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,100 people, according to Palestinian figures.
