Nairobi: Israeli occupiers set fire to two houses and a mosque and injured four Palestinians in a series of attacks in the occupied West Bank on Sunday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs stated that Israeli occupiers targeted a mosque in Tuwana, Masafer Yatta, in Hebron, resulting in significant damage. Local sources reported that the occupiers stormed the village, used flammable materials on the mosque, and were met with firefighting efforts by residents and civil defense teams. Clashes ensued during this incident with Israeli army forces providing protection for the occupiers.

The ministry denounced the mosque attack as an act of terrorism and linked it to an Israeli policy aimed at displacing Palestinians from Masafer Yatta. Tuwana municipal chief Muhammad Raba'I informed the official news agency Wafa that occupiers from the Havat Ma'on outpost were responsible for setting ablaze the mosque and two homes.

In a separate incident in Nablus, four Palestinians sustained injuries due to an attack by Israeli occupiers in Beita. The Israeli army also closed the western entrance to Burqa with earth mounds, raided homes, and conducted field interrogations of Palestinian residents.

Further actions included the arrest of two young men by the Israeli army in Qabatiya, Jenin, and the detention of three Palestinians in al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, and one in Bethlehem. Additionally, occupiers released sheep onto Palestinian-owned lands in Rammun, Ramallah.

The Israeli army and occupiers have escalated their attacks since the onset of the Gaza war in October 2023, resulting in at least 1,181 Palestinian deaths, 13,000 injuries, and nearly 24,000 arrests, as per official Palestinian figures.
