Tel aviv: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly rejected any ceasefire or withdrawal from Gaza as proposed under U.S. President Donald Trump's plan, as reported by Israeli media on Monday. This decision was conveyed during a meeting with the Board of Peace's lead envoy for Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov.
According to Anadolu Agency, the daily Israel Hayom, citing unnamed Israeli sources, reported that Netanyahu expressed his rejection to Mladenov, stating, "Israel will not withdraw from the positions it controls in Gaza, and will not cease fire." Netanyahu further argued that Hamas continues to enhance its military capabilities, posing a significant threat to the Israeli army and the communities surrounding Gaza.
The report highlights that Israel's National Security Council has previously communicated Netanyahu's concerns about the terms of the Gaza ceasefire roadmap to both the Board of Peace and U.S. President Donald Trump's team. This follows the Board of Peace's release of a draft agreement on Friday, detailing the principles and implementation mechanisms for the next phase of Trump's Gaza plan, which includes security, administrative, and transitional arrangements in the enclave, as well as a proposed political path.
Additionally, Israel's public broadcaster KAN revealed that the Israeli army has established three critical conditions regarding the 15-point framework. Senior military officials are expected to present these demands in an upcoming discussion with Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir on Wednesday. The army insists on "complete freedom of action to eliminate threats" in Gaza and demands control over weapons within the region. Furthermore, the military opposes any partial or gradual withdrawal unless Hamas is fully disarmed.
The demands outlined by the Israeli army will be presented to the political establishment, which will need to make decisions regarding them. Since October 2023, Israel has engaged in a brutal conflict in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of over 73,000 people and injuries to more than 174,000 others. Despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025, Israel has continued its attacks across the enclave, leading to the deaths of 1,250 Palestinians and injuries to 4,110 others, as reported by Gaza's Health Ministry.
