Israeli Soldiers Criticized for Treatment of Argentinian Activist During Flotilla Detention

Istanbul: Israeli soldiers were described as "very rude" by an Argentinian activist who recently returned to Trkiye. The activist was a part of the Global Sumud Flotilla that was seized by Israeli forces in international waters earlier this week.

According to Anadolu Agency, Gonzalo Di Pretoro, who has an amputation in his right foot, recounted his experience after arriving at the Istanbul Airport on Saturday. He said that the Israeli soldiers were "very aggressive" toward him. Di Pretoro highlighted an incident where he requested his special shoes due to his amputation, but was denied and pushed when he insisted on his need.

The Global Sumud Flotilla was attempting to breach the Israeli blockade to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave when it encountered Israeli forces. The flotilla was nearing Gaza waters on the evening of October 1 when the Israeli army intervened, seizing dozens of boats and ships and detaining hundreds of passengers.
