Gaza city: At least 50 Palestinians were killed, including nine individuals seeking aid, in a series of Israeli strikes on Thursday, according to medics. Two additional deaths from starvation were reported in the Gaza Strip.
According to Anadolu Agency, a medical source confirmed that five family members lost their lives in a drone strike in Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza. Meanwhile, five more people died when Israeli forces shelled a group of civilians near an aid distribution center on Salah al-Din Street in central Gaza. Another casualty occurred as a man waiting for aid was killed near the Netzarim Corridor.
In the al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City, a drone strike targeted a gathering of residents in the al-Zarqa area, resulting in two civilian deaths and critically wounding several others. The Sabra neighborhood saw four fatalities when a drone struck a group of civilians, with an additional eight Palestinians, including children, killed in a strike on their home.
A separate strike on a family home in the al-Shanti area in the city's northwest claimed four lives, and four Palestinians were killed in a drone strike in Jabalia, a northern town. An airstrike near Al-Istijaba Mosque in Gaza City's Sabra neighborhood resulted in three more deaths.
In the al-Nazla district of Jabalia, a drone strike killed two people. In the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, an apartment strike resulted in one death and several injuries, while a child was killed and her mother wounded when artillery shells hit a tent sheltering displaced families.
In Rafah, according to medical staff at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, three more people were killed and others injured as Israeli forces bombed aid seekers near distribution centers. Additionally, the Israeli army killed seven Palestinians and injured 18 others targeting people near the Wadi Gaza area.
Reports by the official news agency Wafa noted continued demolitions and bombardment by Israeli forces in the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods of Gaza City. Munir al-Bursh, director general of Gaza's Health Ministry, stated on the US social media company X's platform that two Palestinians died of starvation and malnutrition in the last 24 hours, bringing the total famine-linked deaths since October 2023 to 271, including 112 children.
Since October 2023, over 62,100 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza due to Israeli military actions, devastating the enclave, which is also facing famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
