One person was killed when an Israeli tank shell hit a vehicle in the village of Al-Za'rura in the Quneitra governorate of southern Syria, Syrian media reported. The incident has sparked tensions in the region as reports of such attacks have become frequent.

According to Anadolu Agency, Al-Ikhbariyah TV announced on the US social media platform X that "Israeli occupation forces killed a young man through targeting a car with a tank shell in the village of Al-Za'rura." No further details were immediately available regarding the circumstances of the attack.

Israeli forces have been carrying out operations in southern Syria with increasing frequency. These operations include ground incursions, particularly in rural areas of Quneitra and Daraa, where they have been detaining civilians, setting up checkpoints, and causing damage to agricultural land.

The Israeli occupation of most of Syria's Golan Heights since 1967 remains a co ntentious issue. Following the ouster of the al-Assad regime in December 2024, Israel announced the collapse of the 1974 disengagement agreement and moved to occupy the Syrian buffer zone, further intensifying the situation.
