Istanbul: Istanbul Airport and Antalya Airport on the Turkish Riviera reached unprecedented daily passenger figures during the weekend of July 26-27, as reported by the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, IGA Istanbul Airport set a new milestone with 272,132 passengers on July 27, marking the highest daily passenger volume in its history and across Europe, as confirmed by Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu.

Antalya Airport, located near the Mediterranean coast, also achieved a record-breaking day on July 26 with 225,118 passengers. The breakdown of this figure included 203,348 international flight passengers and 21,770 domestic travelers, as detailed in the official statement.

The previous record for Antalya Airport was 223,217 daily passengers on August 3, 2024. The statement further noted that on that record-setting day, the airport managed 1,074 international flights and 143 domestic flights, which remains the highest aircraft traffic recorded at the airport.
