London: Tennis world number one Jannik Sinner has been banned for three months over doping, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) confirmed on Saturday. According to Anadolu Agency, WADA has entered into a case resolution agreement with Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, resulting in a three-month period of ineligibility due to an anti-doping rule violation. Sinner tested positive for clostebol, a prohibited substance, in March 2024. WADA stated that while Sinner did not intend to cheat, his exposure to clostebol did not provide any performance-enhancing benefit and occurred without his knowledge due to negligence by members of his entourage. Under the agreement, Sinner's suspension will run from February 9 to May 4, including credit for four days previously served during his provisional suspension. World number one Sinner will be eligible to return to official training activities starting April 23 this year. The 23-year-old Italian has achieved significant success, winning 19 singles titles, including maj or victories at the 2024 Australian Open, 2024 US Open, and 2025 Australian Open.
