Belem: Japanese companies are promoting a new technology to restore barren farmland at the 30th annual UN climate change conference (COP30) held in Brazil. As the 11-day-long conference unfolds in the city of Belem, these firms are highlighting various technologies aimed at combating global warming.
According to Anadolu Agency, during the conference, the Japan Pavilion hosted a seminar on Tuesday to introduce a groundbreaking technology designed to rejuvenate barren farmland and pastures. Utilizing fertilizer and other soil-enhancing materials, this method seeks to curb unnecessary deforestation for agricultural expansion.
Nine Japanese companies are present at COP30, each showcasing their cutting-edge technologies. Among the innovations is a material capable of lowering room temperatures by reflecting sunlight and dissipating heat. Kijima Yuto, from the Japanese company Spacecool, emphasized the universal challenge posed by rising global temperatures and predicted a growing demand for such cooling technologies.
Additionally, another firm presented a system for early wildfire detection, employing satellite data alongside ground-based sensors to identify signs of potential fires.
