Jewish Group Condemns Trump’s Executive Order Targeting Pro-Palestinian Activists

Washington: Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) has strongly criticized an executive order signed by US President Donald Trump that facilitates the deportation of pro-Palestinian student activists, describing it as a direct assault on free speech and political dissent.

According to Anadolu Agency, the executive order was signed on Wednesday and allows the US government to utilize all available legal tools to combat anti-Semitism, including prosecuting and deporting individuals accused of unlawful anti-Semitic harassment. This measure specifically targets student-led anti-war demonstrations on college campuses in reaction to Israel’s military actions in Gaza, which have resulted in over 47,000 casualties.

JVP, a notable progressive anti-Zionist organization, expressed outrage on X, condemning Trump’s actions as a “vile” attempt to silence opposition to US-supported Israeli operations in Gaza. The group accused Trump and right-wing organizations of manipulating anti-Semitism concerns to further their political objectives.

The group also highlighted that entities like the Heritage Foundation, alongside Trump, have historically failed to protect Jewish communities and are not genuinely interested in Jewish safety. JVP called upon elected officials and university administrators to reject the executive order, warning that it poses a threat to the ongoing movement for Palestinian liberation and could potentially be used to suppress other progressive initiatives.

JVP vowed to resist the order, labeling it as “authoritarian,” “unconstitutional,” and “violent,” and urged for collective action against its implementation.
