Brussels: This July ranked as the third-warmest July worldwide, according to data from the EU's Copernicus Climate Change Service released on Thursday.

According to Anadolu Agency, "July 2025 was the third-warmest July globally," with temperatures 1.25C (2.25F) warmer than pre-industrial levels. The data highlighted the significant increase in global temperatures, emphasizing the growing concerns over climate change.

The report further detailed that the average temperature over European land for July 2025 was 21.12C (70.02F), which is 1.30C (2.34F) above the 1991-2020 average for July. This made the month the fourth-warmest July in the recorded history for Europe, underscoring the regional impact of rising temperatures.

Additionally, the data revealed that the extent of Arctic sea ice was 10% below average, matching the levels observed in 2012 and 2021. This marked the second-lowest July level in 47 years of satellite records, indicating significant changes in polar ice coverage.
