Budapest: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev affirmed on Wednesday that his visit to Hungary signifies a mutual desire between Kazakhstan and Hungary to deepen bilateral cooperation. During a meeting with Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok, Tokayev highlighted the strong political dialogue and economic cooperation that have been established between the two nations. According to Anadolu Agency, Tokayev expressed optimism about the potential for fruitful collaboration in various sectors, emphasizing the importance of expanding trade, economic, and investment ties with Hungary. He identified key areas of mutual interest, including energy, transport, logistics, metallurgy, renewable energy, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals. Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok echoed Tokayev's sentiments, acknowledging the efforts both countries are making to enhance multifaceted cooperation. Sulyok also noted that despite the geographical distance, Kazakhstan and Hungary share common historical roots, which further binds the two nations. The discussions between Tokayev and Sulyok also highlighted the significance of cultural and humanitarian ties. Both leaders emphasized the need to intensify academic and scientific exchanges between leading universities in Kazakhstan and Hungary, aiming to foster closer connections in these fields. Tokayev's visit to Budapest follows an official visit to Serbia earlier in the day, indicating a broader regional engagement strategy.
