Cyprus' twice Olympic silver medalist in sailing, Pavlos Kontides, announced his decision to claim participation in the Los Angeles Olympic Gams in 2028. Kontides celebrated during an event held at Le Sundeck Robuchon in the Ayia Napa Marina on Tuesday evening, the second Olympic silver medal he clinched during his career, made an assessment of what he achieved at the "Paris 2024" Olympic Games and announced his decision to claim participation in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. According to a press release, speaking during a press conference, Kontides expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the media, supporters, and sponsors who contributed to his Olympic achievement. In his speech, Pavlos underscored the love and support he received from the local and the international community, highlighting the pivotal role his sponsors, such as Ayia Napa Marina, played in his athletic journey.
