Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have not engaged in any discussions concerning a potential meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the United States, according to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ushakov stated that Moscow had not received any proposals regarding such a meeting. His comments followed Zelenskyy's announcement on Monday, wherein he mentioned a conversation with Trump about the possibility of convening talks in the US, in a manner that would ostensibly make it challenging for Putin to decline.

Zelenskyy remarked, "We will see what comes of it. If Russia refuses this chance as well, additional pressure will be needed." He further revealed that Kyiv had engaged in discussions with the US and France about organizing talks with Russia on the sidelines of the Group of Seven (G7) Summit in Evian-les-Bains, France. However, he claimed Putin was reluctant to participate. "We offered Putin to meet anywhere where real decisions to end the war could be made. He does not want it," Zelenskyy added.

In a separate statement, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified that Putin had not received an invitation to the G7 Summit for a meeting with Zelenskyy. "Of course not. And as you know, there are no official channels between Moscow and Kyiv," Peskov emphasized. He also reiterated that Putin had communicated all necessary proposals to Zelenskyy, and if the Ukrainian leader was prepared for serious discussions, he could visit Moscow, where he would be welcomed.
