Moscow:The Kremlin has criticized media coverage surrounding peace proposals to end the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, describing many of these reports as "fabrication."
According to Anadolu Agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov addressed the issue during a press briefing, responding specifically to a report by The Washington Post. The report, based on information from an unnamed US official, mentioned a joint peace proposal being developed by the United States and Europe. Peskov stated that much of the media noise regarding this matter does not align with reality.
Peskov accused European countries of attempting to prolong the over-four-year war, while asserting that the United States is working towards a resolution. He emphasized that efforts to resolve the conflict are being conducted discreetly, and it is too early to draw conclusions about any shifts in Washington's support for Kyiv.
He also denied the existence of any scheduled international meetings regarding the war and declined to comment on speculation about a potential visit to Russia by FBI Director Cash Patel.
Peskov addressed concerns about the use of Starlink technology for military purposes. This came after a freelance adviser to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy mentioned speed restrictions on Starlink satellites in Ukraine. Serhii Beskrestnov had previously stated on Telegram that SpaceX imposed speed limits on Starlink terminals without notification. Neither SpaceX nor US officials have commented on this.
Furthermore, Peskov discussed ongoing work related to an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, announced by US President Donald Trump. He questioned the specifics of the proposed truce, seeking clarity on its parameters.
In addition, Peskov discussed the weaponization of artificial intelligence by some countries, highlighting the need to prepare for the challenges posed by these technologies.
